I'm an updating maniac!

Did you realize that I just provided you with 4 blog posts before this one?!?! I fully expect people to go back and catch up on the last 2 months of our lifes by scrolling through those posts too ;)

These are the things I still need to blog about:
- My baby shower
- Fall
- The nursery
- Crafting adventures

Currently I am just waiting for this baby to come out at any moment. So, while I wait I suppose I will update the blog in anticipation. Maybe that's what baby D is waiting for...

Maternity Pictures

2 weeks ago, we drove to Fargo to have maternity pictures taken. Now, let me clarify that having pictures taken when you are huge and pregnant is in no way appealing. However, we figured for posterity we would do them...Ok really it was part of the "First Year" package that we bought for baby so we went with it. Despite all that, we are really happy with them and think the photographer did a great job. She was easy to work with and it was worth driving down there. She will be photographing Baby D as a newborn and then at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. Pictures are important!
Here are a few of our favorites :)

First Day of School

After having visitors, it was kind of a let down to be alone again. BUT, school started right back up so we got back into the swing of things ok.
Here is Steven on the first day of his junior? (it's a long story) year of college:

This semester he is taking:
Intro to Air Traffic Control
Multi-Engine Ground School
Intro to Atmospheric Sciences (with a lab)
Airport Planning & Management
Intro to Unmanned Aerial Systems
Business Communication
Multi-Engine Flight Lab

He is looking forward to being done with the random freshmen-level classes he keeps getting thrown into. (NEVER EVER transfer universities if you can avoid it...) And he's excited to start the UAS class for his second degree this semester. Lastly, he is flying the multi-engine plane which is bigger, faster, more powerful, and more expensive.
You can't beat UND when it comes to Aerospace Sciences and really the school alone makes living here worth it...most of the time.

PS Did you notice that he is wearing BURNT ORANGE?!?!?! And plaid shorts?!?!?! 3 years ago I married a man with a wardrobe of black and white tshirts and 2 polos...I never would have thought orange to be possible!!

Our First Visitors

In mid-August, Allegiant had some GREAT deals on airfare from home here to GF. So, we convinced my mom and sister, Talia to come visit us...AND THEY DID!! FOR A WEEK!!

It was AWESOME! We warned them of how exciting our city was in advance, but we did manage to do some fun things. I'm only including a few favorite pictures because between my mom and I there are over 400 photos from the week...

Steven gave them the grand tour of UND and the airplanes.

We visited the farmer's market and took some pictures in the downtown district.

We drove to Fargo and visited Bonanzaville, USA- and yes it is as GREAT as it sounds. We laughed a lot.

Bonanzaville

We drove to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada one day. We toured the mint, went to Tinkertown to play mini golf, shopped, had a picnic at the park, and had lots of fun minus a few pregnant break downs :)

Holding half a million dollars.

We went to Kegs for some old-fashioned root beer and burgers.

We grilled at a park and played frisbee.

On the last morning, we rented a tandem bike from the union. It was hilarious to watch them figure it out. They did get the hang of it though. Steven dragged them ALL over the city on that thing too.

Steven turned 25!

In July...and I'm just now posting about it. BUT it was the very last day of July, so I'm not really THAT behind.
For his birthday, he voted to have his gift be getting to go to the OshKosh Air Show in Wisconsin with a group from school. He left me for like 5 days and went and looked at airplanes, met pilots, camped out, did other man stuff. I stayed home and hung out with the baby. So, that was technically his birthday present.

But, it was BEFORE his birthday and I still wanted to celebrate somehow...so we had a party with some of our friends. It was the first time we had really had a group of people over since we've lived here. Our new apartment isn't huge, but it was big enough to have people over. We played Jenga Max (one of Steven's gifts) and we also played Mad Jab. AND we had cake, ice cream, and some other foods that I never took a picture of.

The families with kids all left right as the other couple without kids showed up. They stayed and chatted with us for awhile (but I forgot to take their picture!). We watched this crazy rain storm that blew in too.

Overall, it was pretty fun. Steven got to hang out with all of our GF friends, spend some time with airplanes, and his old mission companion even called from Brazil. Here's some pictures of the party

The cake-it got kind of melty, but I made that bad boy into an airplane!

Blowing out LOTS of candles:

The Smiths

The Piersons (minus Dallin who was at summer camp for ROTC)

Random Thoughts from a Crazy Pregnant Lady

I am SO pregnant. I have a three minute attention span. I thought it was kind of a joke when everyone told me about baby brain but it's NO joke. So here's what's on my scattered-brain tonight:

1. I love three day weekends with my sweet husband. Today is our last long weekend before the baby gets here. We watched 2 1/2 hours of Pawn Stars, cleaned our house, did our laundry, took a long walk in the rain, enjoyed dinner together and had lots of study time. Today was so simple, but so wonderful.

2. I love the rain. I have been listening to the wind rustling the leafs outside and now finally the rain. It's so relaxing. It is kind of weird to have a rain storm that lasts so long though- this is no AZ monsoon.

3. Baby D is going on a growth spurt. I am SO tired today. This happened at about 18 weeks too. All I did was eat and sleep. The difference is that now he is so big and doesn't have as much room to move around.

4. The nursery is almost done. I will take pictures and post about all my craft projects when it is done.

5. My business ethics teacher is FINALLY giving us a break this week. Last week there was almost 200 pages of reading. I tried to do the assignments without reading and it was impossible so ALL of my assignments were late. The weird part--it didn't even phase me. I am pregnant, busy and just didn't feel like reading 200 pages in less than 3 days. This week we only have one chapter, one discussion post, and one case study- easy peasy.

6. On the other hand, I really like my research class. I have no idea what the end goal of the class is, but we are working on it.

7. I'm starting my thesis. I decided to research employee turnover. We'll see if it's as interesting as I need it to be to write a short book about it.

8. I'm going to the doctor again tomorrow. I will update on all that business later. Maybe I will even post the names we are thinking of.

9. My husband is a hottie. I will spare you the details of every detail of him, but we just bought him a black polo and it is SO HOT. It shows off his arm muscles and accentuates his features. We also bought a blue one and a green one and I can't wait until he wears those. I think it's a good thing I still think he's hott.

10. I am bored writing this now so I will leave it at ten random things. We've been busy doing other things and maybe someday I will tell you all about it.
